Text Box: Rx Refills

Prescriptions and Refill Requests:

All prescriptions should be gone over with your physician at the time of your appointment. Before your appointment, please make a list of all the
prescription you will need and bring the list with you.
Family Practice Center has an automated phone line designated to record your prescription refills. Be prepared to have the following information when you call in to have a prescription refilled:  your name, birth date, telephone number, name and dosage of medication and pharmacy name and telephone number.
PLEASE DO NOT WAIT until your prescription is empty to call us.  Refill requests will be processed within a 72 hour (3 day) period upon receiving the request. Prescriptions will only be called in during daytime business hours on weekdays. We do not process prescriptions on Saturdays or evenings.

Many insurances now request Prior Authorizations on prescriptions that are not in a patient’s formulary.  It is a patient’s responsibility to bring the prescription formulary to office visits so the physician can choose a medication that will be covered by the insurance. Prior Authorized medications take several days to complete, delaying patient care.
If you are requesting a non-routine medication, you will need an appointment with a physician. Due to malpractice issues, the physicians cannot prescribe non-routine medications (i.e. cough syrups, antibiotics) without seeing a patient.
